About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Rail Architect to take a leading role in the delivery of major rail and station projects across the UK. You will work across all RIBA stages, from concept design through to construction and completion, on projects of real national significance.
This is a client-facing, delivery-focused position working closely with the leadership team on a busy and well-established project portfolio.
Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of rail and station projects across all RIBA stages

Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams

Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders

Oversee technical documentation, BIM coordination and quality processes

Manage contractual and commercial aspects of project delivery

Mentor junior team members and contribute to design leadership

Support business development, bids and client presentations
About You
You will be an ARB-registered Architect with strong experience delivering UK rail and transport projects. You will be technically confident, client-facing and comfortable leading project delivery within complex infrastructure environments.
Requirements

ARB registration and a minimum of 5 years’ UK transport sector experience

Proven experience delivering rail station projects, including remodelling and accessibility improvement schemes

Strong understanding of rail design standards, approvals processes and stakeholder coordination

Experience leading project teams and managing consultant coordination

Confident in client-facing roles and stakeholder engagement

Construction and site experience, ideally working alongside contractors

Proficiency in Bentley OpenBuildings Designer and BIM environments
-
Experience using MicroStation would be advantageous, although full training will be provided

Proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in transport and infrastructure design
