About the Company
Our client, an American multidisciplinary firm, has a well-established team of 75+ landscape architects in the UAE and is known for delivering sustainable, culturally grounded public spaces. They have key roles in Saudi Arabia’s Rua Al-Madinah and Diriyah projects which are delivered from the UAE offices.
They are also involved in the Soudah Peaks mountain tourism destination and Dubai’s District 7, where they provide full-scope planning and landscape services. Across these developments, our client consistently blends environmental stewardship with innovative design to shape liveable, future-ready cities.
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Technical Landscape Manager to join their team. In this role you will get to work on all aspects of technical design and quality assurance across the Dubai and Abu Dhabi studios.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical guidance on all aspects of landscape architecture, including design development, documentation, specification and landscape construction detail administration.
- Lead the production of technical design documents, including site plans, grading plans, planting plans, landscape specifications, and construction details.
- Review and monitor the quality of technical work produced by the technical team, ensuring that designs comply with local codes, authority regulations, and best practices.
Core Skills
Design Management:
- Manage technical aspects of multiple landscape architecture projects from concept through construction, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, nurseries) to ensure smooth project execution that limits the number of RFI’s.
- Assist with project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure that technical milestones are met.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise and mentor landscape architects, providing guidance on technical skills, design principles, and career development.
- Foster a inquisitive collaborative, innovative, and productive environment within the team.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for technical staff.
Quality Control & Technical Standards:
- Evolve and manage Parsons Landscape technical design standards and ensure all deliverables adhere to these standards.
- Conduct regular quality control reviews and provide feedback to design teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Implement and manage Parsons Quality (IDC & IDR ) Process internally before issuance of documentation.
- Ensure adherence to sustainable design practices, including stormwater management, sustainable materials, and environmental considerations.
- Development and continual updates to the office standard CSI specification library.
- Ownership of the studio’s material library
Collaboration:
- Work closely and coordinate with other internal and external design professionals (Infrastructure engineers, architects etc.) to ensure integration of landscape requirements / solutions with other project disciplines.
Client Interaction:
- Engage with clients during all phases of project development, from initial consultation to final delivery, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
- Present and communicate complex technical concepts to clients in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.
About You
Core Requirements:
- Minimum fifteen (15+) years of continuous experience in landscape architecture. International experience in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia is preferable.
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an accredited University or College programme.
- Possess professional registration, licensure or chartership with an internationally recognised professional association.
- Fluency in English, verbal and written. Proficiency in other languages, especially Arabic, is highly regarded.
- Professional Certification: CMLI / ASLA / ALIA
