About the Company
We are working with a world-renowned architectural practice specialising in traditional and progressive classical architecture and contextual urbanism.
With studios in Winchester and London, the practice has an international reputation for its work across bespoke private houses, historic and listed buildings, conservation, residential developments, commercial projects and masterplanning.
About the Role
The practice is looking for an Architect with 3+ years’ professional experience to join its Winchester studio.
You will work on a range of bespoke private residential projects, contributing across the RIBA work stages from early design through to technical delivery and completion.
The ideal candidate will combine strong design ability with an appreciation for technical detailing and construction. High-end residential experience would be beneficial, although an interest in traditional and classical architecture is more important than direct experience in the sector.
Duties include:
- Working across all RIBA work stages on bespoke residential projects.
- Develop design proposals and architectural information.
- Contribute to technical and construction detailing.
- Work closely with clients, consultants and project teams.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project information.
- Ensure projects meet planning, building regulation and construction requirements.
- Manage your own workload and deliver information to agreed deadlines.
- Contribute to the wider design and development of the practice.
About You
You will ideally have:
- 3+ years’ professional architectural experience.
- ARB registration or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience working across multiple RIBA stages.
- Strong design skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of UK planning and building regulations.
- Experience with residential projects, ideally high-end or bespoke.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A practical approach to problem solving.
- An interest in traditional or classical architecture.
ArchiCAD experience is advantageous but not essential, with training provided.
Benefits
- 21 days’ annual leave, increasing with service, plus public holidays.
- Office closure over Christmas with additional discretionary leave.
- Contributory pension scheme.
- Private medical insurance after probation.
- Health cash plan.
- Group life assurance.
- Professional membership fees reimbursed where applicable.
- Annual bonus considered based on individual performance and company profitability.
- Up to 40% agile working from home after probation, depending on the role.
- Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Season ticket loan.
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption benefits.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Ongoing training, mentoring and professional development.
