About the Role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for the overall performance, development, and financial health of the practice. This role requires strategic oversight of operations, client relations, business development, and financial management, with the ultimate goal of enhancing service delivery and driving growth in local and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Studio Management

  • Oversee and manage all operational aspects, including HR, IT infrastructure, and internal culture.
  • Develop and implement organisational structures, procedures, and quality assurance systems to optimise efficiency.
  • Monitor studio workflow, resource allocation, and project budgets.
  • Collaborate with owners and staff to set and achieve development goals.

Client Management

  • Foster and nurture client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery.
  • Provide strategic oversight of client communication, troubleshooting, and negotiation.
  • Manage budgets and billing while delivering on forecasts.
  • Stay informed on regional and international market trends.

Financial Management

  • Oversee financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and annual budgets.
  • Ensure resources are aligned with revenue targets and track financial progress.
  • Provide regular reporting and forecasting to ensure studio sustainability.

Business Development

  • Drive strategic business growth in targeted local and international markets.
  • Contribute to business planning strategies and oversee marketing and bidding processes.
  • Increase revenue through new business opportunities and client acquisition.

About You

You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record in managing architectural consultancy operations at a senior level. With a deep understanding of the GCC market and a passion for driving organisational growth, you excel in fostering relationships and delivering results.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Architecture or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years in senior leadership roles within architectural consultancies.
    • Proven expertise in managing diverse, large-scale projects across various sectors.
    • UAE/GCC market experience is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Strong financial acumen, project management, and organisational development capabilities.
    • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
    • Exceptional communication in English.
