About the Role
The Associate Architect will be responsible for leading multiple projects, owning projects technically and financially, providing the best client relations, and overseeing the timely delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations. They will be expected to coordinate architectural efforts between engineering groups, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders as required, and to ensure that local and international codes are being followed.
The ideal candidate will be able to control pressure from project and team performance, perform work with general guidance and supervision or provide support to more experienced personnel, and apply people management skills in collaboration with senior management. They will also strongly participate in producing still images and animations, ensuring the production of high-quality architectural/interior design.
You will lead the design management of the project, ensuring that the team’s design input is coherent, thorough, and up to standards, and will prepare presentations of design to clients.
The Associate Architect will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of project deliverables, reviewing and challenging information received from sub-consultants and third parties to ensure quality compliance, and estimating resources required and matching personnel effectively with task requirements. They will have a strong understanding of building construction, codes and regulations, and obligations of architect of record, and will provide guidance to the team. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will strive for design excellence, creative solutions, innovative and practical design ideas, and will contribute to the marketing efforts of the company in line with our clients’ design philosophy.
About You
You are a highly skilled Associate Architect with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and excellent design skills. A Master’s degree would be desirable.
The chosen candidate will possess solid software skills, including 3D design, Sketchup, InDesign, and Microsoft Office, with hand sketching skills being desirable. Furthermore, it is essential to have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
It would be preferred that you are member of the UAE Society Engineers. Registration with a home country professional body would be highly regarded, and project management training would be desirable.
You have at least 15 years of experience following graduation, with previous experience in an office environment leading teams and working closely with management. You have commercial management experience and are skilled in risk management and mitigation. You have a proven track record of managing stakeholders, including client relations, and reporting project performance. You have experience leading multiple projects independently through all project stages and have worked in innovative practices locally or internationally or reputable local practices.
