Our client is a leading independent ecology consultancy based in Oxford. Their work throughout the UK (although predominantly in the Home Counties, South of England and Midlands). Their expertise is sought after by clients from a wide range of sectors including planning, developments, utilities and infrastructure.
The close knit team solve simple and complex ecological constraints deploying professional know-how and great investment in people and technical toolkits.
About the Role
Take the next step on your career ladder within a supportive environment. Work alongside the MD to hone your skills set to drive the business forward in a collaborative manner. Our client is seeking a motivated individual with good communication skills and experience of writing or securing European Protected Species Mitigation licences (EPSM). The project-based nature of the work means the candidate needs to be willing to undertake travel and work away from home with overnight stays yet unlimited annual leave and flexible approach to work time, balancing a healthy work life balance.

About You
Your experience and your advantage:
- Genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment.
- Comfortable designing surveys and excellent report writing skills.
- Highly experienced at phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species surveys.
- Leading field teams and managing projects.
- Collaborating with internal teams and quoting for work.
- Sustaining client relationships and identifying new work opportunities.
- Delivery of projects on a variety of scales across a range of sectors.
Desirable skills:
- Advanced skills in one or more specialist ecological areas e.g. bats.
- Member of CIEEM and either chartered or working towards it.
- Degree or equivalent in an ecology related discipline.
- Experience of using QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Demonstrable experience of developing business across a range of sectors.
- Secured European Protected Species Mitigation (EPSM) licences for protected species e.g. great crested newt or bats.
