About the Company
A renowned architecture practice with a strong presence in London, our client has a rich history of delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions across a variety of sectors, including aviation, education, rail, hospitality, healthcare, leisure, and retail. With multiple offices located in the UK, and globally, they are known for creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally responsible buildings that meet the complex needs of their clients. Their headquarters are based in Central London, where they operate a hybrid working policy, requiring staff to attend the office at least two days per week.
About the Role
As a Senior Architect, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing architectural design, coordination, and liaison activities across various projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work (0-7) for your assigned projects, ensuring the successful development and delivery of key project documentation, and acting as the primary point of contact for specific work packages.
Your responsibilities will include leading design solutions, coordinating the integration of various design disciplines such as structure, MEP services, and specialist systems, and ensuring that internal design reviews are conducted at key stages of the project. You will also manage commercial aspects of the projects, such as resource allocation and profit targets, and ensure that all client instructions are communicated effectively to the design team.
Additionally, you will adopt and enforce the company’s Quality Management System, contribute to internal and external audits, and oversee the training and development of team members. Business development will also be a key aspect of your role, as you will be expected to identify and act upon potential marketing and business opportunities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge and experience, particularly in construction and building legislation. You will have a proven track record of managing projects efficiently and profitably, with excellent communication and team leadership skills.
You should be adept at using relevant software tools and able to lead design solutions that are innovative and technically sound. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing risks and opportunities are essential.
You must be registered with the Architects Registration Board and be comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Additionally, your ability to identify business development opportunities and contribute to future bids and submissions will be highly valued.
This role is suited for a seasoned architect who is passionate about delivering high-quality projects while fostering a collaborative and motivated team culture.
