About the Role

This is a strategic role. The Head of Interior Design will lead and inspire the Interior Design team, overseeing the conceptualisation, design, and delivery of exceptional interior spaces that exceed client expectations. This senior position combines creative leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as a key liaison between clients, stakeholders, and the design team, the role also focuses on business growth and enhancing the practice’s reputation for interdisciplinary design excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Interior Design team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. 

• Develop and implement design strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends. 

• Oversee multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring award-winning outcomes. 

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, securing long-term partnerships and driving business growth. 

• Identify and pursue new opportunities across sectors, leading pitches to win new clients and projects. 

• Provide creative and technical oversight, ensuring design integrity and adherence to industry standards. 

• Manage resources, budgets, and schedules effectively to maintain financial performance. 

• Collaborate seamlessly with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to deliver high-quality results. 

• Expand the team’s size and capabilities, contributing to the practice’s reputation for design excellence. 

• Stay ahead of industry trends, fostering innovation and positioning the team as a leader in interdisciplinary design. 

• Represent the Interior Design team internally and externally, enhancing its influence and reputation. 

About You

The ideal candidate is an experienced and driven design professional with a proven track record in leading and delivering exceptional interior design projects in housing, residential, and student accommodation. With a background in interior design, or architecture, they thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and possess the strategic vision, creativity, and technical expertise to guide teams and exceed client expectations.
