About the Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing company contracts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. You will review and evaluate various contracts, such as consultancy agreements from clients and contracts provided with RFPs, and provide comments, advice, and guidance. You will prepare letters of awards and contracts for subconsultants and negotiate the terms and conditions of contracts.
In this role, you will also provide advice on contract interpretation and analysis, as well as facilitate contractual bond and insurance requirements. You will be responsible for managing contractual changes and resolving disputes or conflict resolution. Additionally, you will analyse contracts to ensure they comply with local laws and regulations.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to interpret and understand complex legal documents. You should also be able to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and be adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment.
About You
As the Contracts Manager, you should possess good leadership, organisational and management skills, along with excellent negotiation skills, persistence, and determination in achieving your goals.
Experience in the United Arab Emirates is essential.
You should have an outstanding working knowledge of contract law, consultancy contracts’ legal and contractual terms and conditions in the region, as well as globally, to provide advice on contract interpretations and analysis.
Your communication skills, both written and verbal, should be strong and effective in English, and proficiency in other languages such as Arabic or French would be an advantage. Proficient computer and software skills, including MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, are essential for this role. You should have a Master’s degree in Engineering (Law preferred) or a relevant advanced degree or post-graduate degree, such as an MBA, which is an advantage.
You should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in contract administration and management in the region, and at least 3 years of relevant significant experience in Contracts Management or a similar role in a design consultancy company in the region would be preferred.
