About the Role
Ensuring a variety of work that will ignite your passion for biodiversity across small, medium and larger scale strategic projects. A great supportive and friendly environment is palpable within this thriving business from five offices across UK.
You are ready to use your previous consultancy expertise to undertake and lead on ecological surveys. A wide range protected species and habitats need your expertise for mitigation projects and biodiversity strategies predominately in the South West of England. As the successful applicant you have good organisational skills and self-motivation to deploy your chosen field with rigour and enthusiasm to further augment your reputation and that of the company.
The team are currently working remotely this will be embraced going forwards in the short term – you are keen to work collaboratively with other team members in the region to establish a growing base in the SW. With confidence, you are able to apply UK and European legislation, policy and guidance. You have at least 3 years expertise within ecological consultancy to date and hold a bat licence. You are adept at ecological survey methods, assessment, data management and analysis. Great at communicating mitigation and enhancement techniques both verbal and written to much valued clients and contractors. You take a proactive attitude when looking after your team and are ready to be mentored to the next level by more senior individuals with a wealth of knowledge to impart.
Degree in Ecology or closely related discipline.
Membership of CIEEM.
Demonstrable survey and data analysis expertise.
Full driving licence and use of own vehicle.
Extended Phase 1 and Preliminary Ecological Appraisal
Protected species survey class licence registrations for other species [GCN]
Experience of using GIS software (especially QGIS)
Registered under bat survey class licence (Level 2 (CL18) or above)
Named ecologist on EPS mitigation licences
Ecological Clerk of Works duties.
