About the Role
Are you looking to develop your career in EIA Project Management? This significant opportunity will ensure you are supported with the necessary knowledge skills and broad experience to progress your career. This is a consultancy with a robust client base. There is a diverse range of EIA projects to get involved with:
- wind and solar energy developments
- electricity transmission infrastructure
- housing and mixed-use development
- and other land development projects.
You will have a key role in undertaking independent EIA and ESs review work also from across the UK. In addition, there will be opportunities to work with the wider planning team on projects including development management, green infrastructure, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Sustainability Appraisal for a diverse range of policies, plans and programmes.
The role will include: Reporting to the Project Director, and as part of a dedicated EIA team, the role will include:
- Undertaking day-to-day EIA project management tasks. Tendering and business development activities, particularly focussing on renewable energy in Wales and potentially Scotland and England.
- Managing EIA Report/ ES review work and reviewing draft review reports. including liaising with project team members, clients and external organisations and representing our client at meetings and consultation events.
- Recording/ tracking key project actions and deliverables. Overseeing the production of EIA Reports and ESs, including writing and review of report chapters, figures and appendices.
- Working with experienced EIA project managers who will provide ongoing support alongside with a specialist internal team of ecologists, planners and landscape architects, and a network of external consultants.
The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and clients is essential. This consultancy will support you to achieve professional recognition and qualifications in your field e.g. membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
About You

You have experience of project managing EIA projects either within consultancy or market sector clients. You have already managed large and complex assignments and preferably have expertise in the energy sector. You hold a passion for knowledge and keen to build your capabilities within research orientated team. Accustomed to writing ES/EIA report chapters and scoping reports, you have excellent communication, coordination and report compilation abilities.
You have:

Good organisational and communication abilities to manage multiple tasks and time, using initiative.
A keen understanding of how EIA sits within the wider development process.
Acute regard for client needs, including delivery and viability considerations.
Wider development planning experience and high standards of report writing / reviews.
Confidence to engage with the design strategies, processes, and deliverables required for complex projects.
Degree in a relevant discipline [ i.e. planning, geography, or an environmental science field]
A Post-graduate qualification in, or covering, Environmental Impact Assessment [or a blend of knowledge and qualifications reflecting a similar level of expertise]
Membership at an appropriate level of IEMA and/ or MRTPI is desirable [but not essential as the candidate can work towards membership within the consultancy.
Full [clean] driving licence.
